I’m veering away from the Knicks a bit here, but this coming weekend/week is the biggest sports time of my life. in addition to the Knicks, I’m a Yankees, Cowboys, and Hurricanes fan. So I’ve never seen one of my favorite teams win a championship that I can remember (Yank in ‘09 I can vaguely remember while the Yanks and Canes in the early ‘00s I have 0 recollection of).

Cowboys: This is the furthest team from a championship obviously, so I’m not concerned about that. But, this is the biggest regular season game of the McCarthy/Dak era. In the past 3 years, they’ve lost to the 49ers in the playoffs in increasingly embarrassing fashion, and then got destroyed on SNF last year in the regular season. We also got mollywopped last year in the playoffs by Packers, which is a Shanahan style coached team. Moral of the story, our biggest historical rival going back to the 80s/90s, has been our biggest roadblock. This is the last season for this iteration of the team, and I really think if we get blown out by them for the 4th time in primetime Mike will be fired.

Canes: This isn’t the highest ranked team I’ve seen (2017 at #2) but it’s the best. In 2017 we were very reliant on takeaways and our QB sucked, while this team is way more solid all around. Ward is the most exciting player I’ve seen, and with the new CFP this is the best chance for us to win a championship since 2001. FSU is ass, but they’re our biggest rival and no doubt they’ve been practicing for us since they dropped to 0-3. There’s not a ton of upside for us with a win, but losing this could spoil a championship season since we don’t have anymore ranked opponents.

Yankees: They require the least explanation given they’re in the WS. Like I said before, the only time I’ve seen a team I root for win a championship was a vague memory the morning after while I was getting ready for like 3rd grade. I’m absolutely locked in this.

So to summarize, in the next few days my baseball team is in the WS, my pro team could (mercifully) be on their last game of the McCarthy Era, and my college team has a must win rivalry game. Factor in the election and I could be a very happy or very sad mad in just a few days.
