Getting back into this since it’s the season. Very good mood about NY sports after the Yankees win (less can be sad about my football fandom).
Opening day is tomorrow so I went on ESPN to get into the mood and read all the good things I’m sure they’re writing about us. I opened up the power rankings — lo and behold — we’re ranked as the 3rd best team in the NBA. Couldn’t be happier right — wait what’s that? We’re projected 40 wins.
Now to answer the question at the top, yes they are. And we knew that, but something about being ranked as the 3rd best team but being projected the same as the crappy Bulls last year is ludicrous.
It doesn’t really matter — it’s just something small I observed. Something else is that they’re giving us a 64% chance to make the playoffs. So we have a 36% chance to be one of the worst 5 or 7 teams in the East. Sure. I don’t know if they mean to make the Play-In or the actual playoffs and I don’t really care to check. I’m sure Christopher Moltasanti will explain it to us during those dumb In-Season Tournament commercials.
Moral of the story is that this is all clearly wrong (besides the #3 team thing) and ESPN are idiots. Opening night tomorrow though so let’s go Knicks.
